The stay

A modern villa with a private heated infinity pool, three bedrooms and three bathrooms, and a 180° sea and mountain view in south-west Madeira. Lower floor: 85-inch TV, table tennis, table football, bar-kitchen and BBQ by the pool. Calheta beach and marina about 5 minutes away. A/C in the upstairs living area; large windows keep the rest comfortable. Pool sun from late morning to sunset.

THE VILLA Built in 2020, the villa sits on a private road shared by only three houses, so it's quiet and safe. There are gardens on both levels with more than 15 palm trees, a lawn and a landscaped cactus garden, and a remote-controlled gate to private parking for three cars. ENTRANCE FLOOR An open-plan living room and a big modern kitchen with a large island and a scullery: dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, Nespresso machine, kettle, microwave, oven and hob. It opens onto a large balcony with a 180° view of the sea and mountains. The living area has two sofas, one of which opens into a comfortable double sofa bed. Air conditioning is in the upstairs living area; the rest of the house stays comfortable with large windows and good ventilation. There is no central heating and no radiators or heaters; the climate is temperate and the house is comfortable all year round. There are three bedrooms on this floor. The main bedroom has a king-size bed, a walk-in wardrobe and its own shower room, and opens onto the balcony. The second bedroom has a double bed and also opens onto the balcony. The third, at the front, has two single beds. A separate bathroom with a shower is off the corridor. ENTERTAINMENT FLOOR A lockable door leads downstairs to a large open-plan space with a bar-kitchen (hob, drinks fridge, freezer and a second dishwasher), a big dining table, a comfy sofa facing an 85-inch TV with Netflix and NOS cable TV, a table tennis table and table football. There is a separate shower room and WC. POOL AND GARDEN Big sliding doors open onto the patio, garden and heated infinity pool, with an outdoor shower, 8 sunbeds with parasols, a large outdoor dining table and a lounge set. The pool heater is set to 24 °C; in the warmer months, and with the cover on, it is usually a few degrees warmer. Arco da Calheta's high street, with shops, bars and cafés, is a minute away by car, and the local health centre (Centro de Saúde) and tennis courts are close by.

Just 1 minute by car from the main highstreet in Arco da Calheta, featuring shops, bars and cafes and less than a minute from the local Centro de Saude (medical center) and recently renovated tennis courts.

We recommend if you stay in Arco da Calheta you should rent a car.
